The photos were then turned over to ILM to, well, work their magic. The collaboration started with our photo shoot with CEO Iger earlier this month in New York. In late November Lucasfilm posted a minute-and-a-half-long teaser trailer of the new movie on YouTube. The news got even better as we learned the Falcon would not just be a CGI model wooshing and swooping in between star destroyers, but an actual, man-made, fully tactile, practical set!Īnd while the recent teaser for The Force Awakens offered us a glimpse of the CGI Falcon dodging some TIE fighters in a dynamic and dizzying JJ Abrams’ shot, we didn’t get to see anyone interacting with the physical set - until now. “ What a piece of junk!“, “ You came in that?
